Tangier : The Bride of North



Tangier is a Moroccan city located in the north of the Kingdom of Morocco, on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, has a population of approximately 776.793 people, and these numbers according to statistics and unofficial estimates, and its located as the fifth largest city in Morocco, the Moroccan city of Tangier advantage is being located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, as this city is a confluence between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean point of view, on the other hand between the continents of Africa and Europe, and known as one of the most important cities of Morocco , because it contain the most important commercial, industrial and tourist centers in the north of the African continent.


Tangier is just one of the oldest cities in Morocco was founded by King Amazigh Suvaks son of Princess Tunjas about 1320 BC and traders settled Phoenicians in the fifth century BC and soon assumed a commercial center on the shores of the Mediterranean. Romania annexed Empire in the first century BC. After the fall of the Romanian Empire Vandals seized on the Tangier in the fifth century AD. Then the Byzantines in the sixth century until opened in 702. 

Tangier restore vitality with the launch of the Islamic conquests of the invasion of Andalusia at the hands of Tariq ibn Ziyad years 711 m, then stationed and Unitarian party who have made Tangier stronghold to organize their armies and their campaigns. After that followed one another on the Tangier periods of the Spanish conquest and the Portuguese and English since 1471 m to 1684 m, which left their mark, capital city's antique doors, towers and churches.
