Ouzoud : The Giant Waterfall


Ouzoud waterfalls (cascades mills in Berber) are waterfalls of about 110 meters high, on three levels, on the river ouzoud, to 1060 m altitude in the Middle Atlas in Morocco. This vast site is an important Moroccan tourist place in Beni Mellal between 120 km and 150 km northeast of Marrakech.
 
These waterfalls, considered among the highest and most beautiful of Morocco, often dominated by a rainbow sky, are located in a rural green valley of red sandstone, planted with olive, almond and fig trees and other carob, or a dozen small traditional oil mill are still in business .

Ouzoud waterfalls have recently become accessible from the small town of Ait AĆ¢tab (about 25 km) from Marrakech or Beni Mellal through the sugar city of Oulad Ayad (Fquih Ben Salah province).

The preserved attraction, peace and nature, entirely pedestrian, offers many campsites in basic huts / rudimentary huts of bamboo and reed, bathing places, small restaurants on the terrace of Berber cuisine and Berber craft shops Middle Atlas, the long footpath leading down to the foot of the waterfall. The site is run among others by some Berber groups macaques freely
